TITAN’s Safety at Home educational program teaches children throughout Greece the importance of safety.
Health and safety is the basis for the planning and execution of all TITAN operations, and the Group aims to use its know-how to make a positive impact on the communities where it works.
Realizing that TITAN’s health and safety expertise is a source of knowledge that can benefit society at large, TITAN’s employees developed ‘Safety at Home’, a program aimed at children in kindergarten, primary and secondary schools, in 2012. Safety at Home aims to raise awareness of health and safety issues and prevent child accidents.
Sessions are organized and run by volunteers who work at the TITAN Greece Health and Safety Department, social workers and production staff, as well as employees from INTERBETON, TITAN plants and headquarters.
Volunteers make presentations on safe practices at home, school and play, take questions and provide clarifications. Following this, students are given the chance to discuss the causes of accidents and how to prevent them. All participating students also receive a copy of the “Safety at Home” manual.
In total (2012 -2017), 60.158 students from 473 schools throughout Greece attended the events.
