TITAN Cement Co. S.A. has been ranked 278th, up 172 places from 2008, in the 2009 table of Global 1,000 Sustainable Performance Leaders.

The rankings are compiled by the international company CRD Analytics, which creates indicators of performance for major stock market and financial organizations, in association with the company Justmeans. They research companies listed on major stock exchanges with total capital of over 1 billion dollars (figures at 31/12/2009) and which publish social reports describing their performance using the GR1-GR3 indicators.

The companies meeting these criteria are ranked on the basis of their sustainable performance value, i.e. their average performance in four areas: Economic, environmental, social and corporate governance.

Another nine Greek companies are also to be found in the top 1000: Coca Cola 3E (135th), Emporiki Bank (355th), Alpha Bank (400th), OTE (407th), Piraeus Bank (434th), Ethniki Bank (543rd), EFG Eurobank Ergasias (760th), Hellenic Petroleum (787th) and Motor Oil (922nd), while as runner-up in 1001st place we find Greece’s Public Power Company (DEI).
